Cities and climate change: impacts on the urban economy
Cities try to protect themselves against possible implications of climate change. Especially for Dutch cities, this is a key issue: a large part of The Netherlands is located below sea level.
The city of Rotterdam wants to be a front runner in adaptation. It put in place a number of progressive policies, and it hopes to reap economic benefits from this. Will Rotterdam become the 'place to be' for innovative companies that are frontrunners in climate adaption?
In this study, Urban IQ and Erasmus University try to identify the potential economic benefits of prograssive climate adaption programmes.
